This is something that could be implemented across the board in Manila (for print templates but also for directory boxes, navigation structure, etc) instead of hardcoding the transformation and the presentation in one layer, separate these steps.

Exactly the same concept as XSL: source (recordset, file whatever) + transformation (rules, sorting, selecting, etc) + layout (and syle). The last logical layer can be seperated for even more flexibility.

Does this make sense?
