I would look into using the manila/mainresponder callbacks in particular either config.manila.callbacks.finalFilter or config.mainrespoder.callbacks.lightweightmacros and add your code there, to do a string.replaceAll to work your macro magic. I always find it better and more lasting to work within the callback structures.
