At that point, you can't. You haven't traversed enough of the tree to get a members attribute.

All of my apps that do interesting things with membership have a paired set of #security and #filters.firstFilter scripts. The #security validates the cookies that are recieved (since they have membership group info attached) and the first filter takes care of deciding if the authentication credentials match the requirements.
