a) how about trying to eliminate suspects from that folder? - copy it's contents elsewhere, empty it, then add the text files back in 1-by-1 till that error occurs.
b) 'vanilla your manila' by turning off any tools you might be using, and see if a stock Frontier setup behaves normally.
c) the 'save-a-copy' trick on your databases - sometimes cures odd errors
