A feature I like to see is Manila recognizing a pre-rendered HTML string for a message bodytext. Manila could store the rendered result in the message table (e.g. in a value named "renderedhtml").

Manila then could first take that string for the bodytext. With this enhancement one could implement custom ASCII-2-HTML renderers that don't calculate the HTML fo each HTTP request (like ShortHand Plugin [1] seems to do).

Examples for custom ASCII-renderers:

ShortHand [2] (see No-Tags-Markup [3])

Textile [4]

Structured Text [5]

HTML Markup 3.0 [6]
