I've been trying to track down some mysterious flakiness on my Frontier (OS X) server recently and I have also encountered this error (internal database error - attempted to read a free block) a couple of times.

In each case, the table for a particular message was corrupted - if I tried to open it in Frontier I would get an endless cycle of this error message. I also was unable to save a copy of the manilaWebsites table until I solved this but restoring the bad message's table from an earlier backup.

I haven't written about this earlier because I was not sure if it is a Frontier problem or if it was somehow related to some disk corruption from other software on this server - which is also running WebSTAR V, Macjordomo X, and a couple other little things.
