I don't know if this is the answer for this case, but if the
challenge is to sync two Frontier servers, the root update process
falls short. The root update process is a one-way distribution
process that assumes a relatively standardized structure. It seems to
me that a synchronization system could be bi-directional if
necessary, would not make (too many) assumptions about the structure
of either machine, and could be stateless. Like using an FTP client
to synchronize a remote host with a local directory.
I have used (and adapted) the subscription process. It works well,
and it's cool, too. But if someone's working on true synchronization,
keep me in the loop.
