Should be easy, right...to copy a manila site?

OK so it was easy. After clearing my head I tried again.
1. Copy SiteAManila Site. Paste underneath another site.
2. Click on that site table from underneath the other site.
3. Do a Find...Replace All and replace all the "SiteA" with "SiteB"
4. Change the name of the table to SiteBManilaSite.
5. Copy it back into the manilasitesroot root.
6. Do a server, install site.
7. If you have something like images/SiteA on your hard drive, copy
that to a new images/SiteB
8. If you have something like gems/SiteA, copy that to gems/SiteB.
9. Voila! (at least that worked for me).
The problem before was I didn't realize find...replace all works only
within the scope of the entity you have clicked on. Previously I was
hesitant to do a replace all, but that was what was needed.
I also learned that if you copy a #DiscussionGroup, you also need to
copy the #newSite, #indexes folder or else the stories won't show up in
your list.

Subject: Should be easy, right...to copy a manila site?
Can anyone point me to instructions on how to copy a manila site to
another site on the same server?
I tried by:
1) Uninstalled SiteAManilaWebsite.
2) Copied SiteAManilaWebsite. Pasted underneath another site.
3) Renamed SiteAManilaWebsite (the one pasted underneath another site)
to SiteBManilaWebsite.
4) Copied SiteBManilaWebsite back to manilawebsites.root.
5) Ran Server, Install Site on SiteBManilaWebsite.
6) Ran Server, Install Site on SiteAManilaWebsite.
So I ended up with two working sites sitea.mydomain.com and
siteb.mydomain.com. Problem is, if you edit a story in sitea, it changes
in siteb and vice-versa. Cool behavior, potentially useful in the
future...but I don't want that behavior now...the sites should not be
linked.
I've tried messing with discussRoot and changing the alsoListedIn
attribute of the stories...but I can't get that to work properly.
I've spent almost two days straight messing with this...there are so
many references to SiteA things in SiteB and simply changing the names
in SiteB doesn't seem to work.
Also if anyone has successfully renamed a manila site I'm interested in
how to do that too.
The reason I need to do this is that I have created a site that has
almost 200 stories/pictures and I need to make another site that is
almost exactly the same save for a few stories. I hope I don't have to
recreate the site!
Help!
Thanks,
Adam
