Manila text pasting size limitation?

Some Manila users at De Anza College report that they are unable to paste
large amounts of text into their new stories. (Many of them are trying to
convert Word documents into web pages.)

The problem seems to occur with something around 32k of text.

Does a limit like this exist in Manila/Frontier?

Is there a way to change this behavior?
