Unicode Mangling on tcp.httpClient

I'm reading a URL that returns unicode text using tcp.httpClient ().

<p>Adem&#225;s hay que a&#241;adir los d&#237;as festivos correspondientes 
al a&#241;o 2002</p>

Becomes:

<p>Adem&#8730;&#176;s hay que a&#8730;&#177;adir los d&#8730;&#8800;as 
festivos correspondientes al a&#8730;&#177;o 2002</p> in the string 
returned by tcp.httpClient ().

Any ideas on how to tame this?
