Problems with moving from OS X to Windows

Greetings, and apologies for the cross-posting!

We are in the process of moving our Frontier installation from an OS X
server to a Windows server, hoping for improved stability. Using a
combination of these instructions (see below) and those listed
here (http://manilanewbies.userland.com/usersguide/admin/downloadingacopyo
Famanilasite), we were able to transfer weblogs between our OS X and
Windows server.

We have two issues though - moving the createASite weblog from OS X to
Windows, and membership - that I believe are related. The web instructions
mention "For privacy reasons, member passwords are removed from the copy
before it's downloaded." Our OS X server was configured to share membership
across sites.

So, a couple of questions:

We attempted to install the createASite weblog from the OS X machine on the
Windows machine using the above instructions, expecting that it would
replace the existing createASite weblog that came installed with the Windows
download. Instead, we got the existing site and a macro error when trying
to surf to the site:

"Macro error: Can't find a sub-table named "C:\Frontier\Guest
Databases\www\createASite.root"

The createASite.root file (downloaded from the OS X server) is in the
proper folder. Shutting down Frontier, restarting and reinstalling this
createASite file resulted in the original file going back to normal (fixed
the macro error).

Is it possible, then, to replace the existing createASite weblog with the
one from our OS X server? Any suggestions on how this is accomplished?

The second question has to do with membership. Where is this stored in
Frontier? I seem to remember that in the shared membership scenario, the
membership info is saved in the createASite weblog...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Best,

Sarah

In the Control Panel:
- enable site downloads (Settings > Manila > Site Downloads)
- at the same time, create a folder for the exported site databases (I
made a folder within the Frontier folder called "Downloads")
- don't worry about the last two options

In the Browser:
- http://wl.middlebury.edu/YourSite/downloadMySite/MySite.root (replace
YourSite with the name of an actual site, but leave the rest the same)
- you'll come to a page that has a link to download the site, click it
- you may get a 404 not found page, but don't worry! it actually works
- the .root file is in the downloads folder

On the Server:
- put .root file in the Frontier > Guest Databases > www folder
- in Frontier, Open the database
- select the top-level table, go to the Server menu > Install Site
- type the URL of the new site
