Hi Jake:
Somehow mainResponder.root failed to update on my webserver (Frontier 9 latest updates on W2K) overnight. However manila.root did update.
This led to a strange situation this morning:
1. My users tried to flip their home page.
2. They received this error:
Sorry! There was an error: Can't call the script "addMessage" because it doesn't define a parameter named "adrdata"
3. After looking at the code, I realized that:
manilaSuite.admin.postFlip was trying to call mainResponder.addMessage.discuss.addMessage with a new parameter adrdata which I believe you added as part of the IP Address Tracking feature. Unfortunately, mainResponder did NOT update overnight so when it tried to call the addMessage with the addtional parameter, it failed because addMessage was the old version without the adrdata parameter.
I fixed this by going to: Admin site->Settings->Updates and clicking on "Update Now". This updated mainResponder.root's routines to take the new adrdata parameter.
Now all page flips work.
Two questions:
1. How do I fix the sites which had the bug? They still show the page for yesterday i.e. April 8 but no page for today i.e. April 9 and no "Flip Home Page button"
2. How do I prevent this from happening in the future? Is there any way to ensure that mainResponder.root is upgraded when manila.root is upgraded? Or is there something I should check each morning to ensure that the overnight upgrades worked fine? I looked at the logs (perhaps I am missing something obvious), but couldn't find anything!
Cheers!
..Roland
