Today we released a new feature for Manila, WYSIWYG editing for Mozilla. The editor works in Mozilla 1.3b or later on all platforms.
It supports text and paragraph formatting, text and background coloring, lists, and tables, and has multi-level Undo/Re-do. (<a href="http://static.userland.com/images/manila/mozillaEditorScreenshot.gif">Screenshot</a>)
The feature is available now on all UserLand-hosted Manila sites.
To install the feature on your own Manila server, <a href="http://frontier.userland.com/howToUpdate">update</a> Frontier.root, mainResponder.root and Manila.root.

How to for Managing Editors
Here's how to enable the WYSIWYG editor for Mozilla in your own site:
   1. Go to your site's Editorial Prefs page -- click Prefs in the Editors Only menu, and then click the Editorial link.
   2. Scroll down to the Editing Tool section, and choose WYSIWYG from the pop-up menu.
   3. Click the Submit button at the bottom of the page.
The WYSIWYG editor is now enabled, and will be used in your discussion group, story editing pages, and in the news items editor.
Notes
The Mozilla editor is based on <a href="http://www.mozilla.org/editor/">Midas</a>, Mozilla's built-in rich text editor. If you're technically inclined, you can read the spec <a href="http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midas-spec.html">here</a>.
