Where are there actual definitions of the jargon?...
a. gem

A gem is any file, other than a .jpg or a .gif, that you upload to your Manila site. For example, a .pdf could be a gem; a .doc Word file could be a gem, etc.

b. shortcut

A shortcut is special text that can turn into a link on your Manila site. This snippet of text is associated with a URL. By enclosing the shortcut text between quotation marks the text will appear as a link. For example, I'm guessing that if I put the words /user guide/ in quotes on this web site it link those words to the User Guide on this site. I'll type \"user guide\" below to see:

"user guide"

Shortcuts are automatically created using the title of any new story on your Manila site. You can also create the manually on the shortcuts page.
