weird post

I have a new web site. it's built from a template based on a previous 
site.

when I post a news item to the homepage, I am returned to another web 
site*. It does post the item correctly but it returns me to this the 
home page of this other site on my server. It's not the site I built 
the template from. Other sites built using the same template do not 
display this behavior.
