There's a server side tool called Smart Tag Stripper - created by Patrick Ritchie. You can download it here - http://radio.weblogs.com/0101131/stories/2004/10/16/manilaSmartTagStripper.html
I've been using it on our server - and it works very well - not 100% - but very acceptable.
