sort order: topic view in discussion group
Thu, 23 May 2002 13:48:57 -0700
Thanks for your answer. Not really what I wanted to hear though.
Intuitively, if chronological view is chronological, one would expect topic
view to be by topic, not "chronologically by topic"! I'm wondering if
someone could point me in the direction of a script I could edit to change
the sort order, or if someone has done this already? The problem is that
we're setting up what could be a high traffic discussion with many discrete
topics, and the users want topics to remain active for as long as 3 months,
so they won't be able to find the tree in the forest.
If anybody has any idea, I'd be very grateful to hear it.

Topics View is by Chronological Order of when a topic got started.
That's why you have previous and next topic and it's all chronological but
posts are grouped by topics
Chronological view is single messages regardless of what topic they belong
