news site not indexing stories

The short answer is "stories should automatically be indexed as well as news items when the site is set for searching".

Don't know why it wasn't happening, I manually set ["#newsSite"].search.flIndexDgMessages to true re-indexed the site and the full searches began working.

Interestingly, the flIndexDgMessages appears to be a redundant preference, and the only preference that should matter is ["#newsSite"].search.flIndex - but whatever. Searching is now fully working (perhaps it always was?)

With a News Item oriented site and searching enabled - should stories (or other discussion messages) be indexed?

Only news items appear to be being indexed on the only site I have enabled searching on.
