Hi Tracy,
Yes, you can use the department feature for news items to organize your
posts by category. You'll probably want to use the news items macro on a
page to customize the listing, but there's also a built-in page for Manila
sites using news items to see all the posts to a specific department (which
you can link to using the departmentLink macro).
eg. on the ProductNews.UserLand.Com website you can view all items from the
Frontier and Manila department at the following URL:
http://productnews.userland.com/newsItems/viewDepartment$Frontier%20and%20Ma
nila
If you have any ideas/feature requests in this area, let me know.
Lawrence

One possibility is to use macros like:
viewNewsItems - http://macros.userland.com/basic/viewNewsItems (with a
department specified)
and
departmentLink - http://macros.userland.com/basic/viewNewsItems
