James, I switched to News Items on May 1 2003. Sometime during April I added a notice to my home page template to inform the readers of my intention. I gradually reduced the the number of news days on the home page down to 1 by May 1. When I made the switch I immediately published a news item and changed the notice in my template. The notice was removed after 30 days. James: You don't _have_ to keep the news items on your homepage. You can create a new story page (that you keep a link to in your navigator bar, e.g. "News") and use the viewNewsItems macro Since you are using weblogger, you can also use the Newslink plugin to make it easy to access News Items features from the "Editors Only" menu when your homepage is not a News Items style page. Let me know if you need additional help. - John P.S. All of your old posts are still there, you just need to know how to find them (or link to them). To see all, try or . I would also like it to truncate the message at a certain number of characters. Can that be done? Is there another macro that would be better suited for this purpose that I am missing?
