Homepage Problem

Hi Everyone -

I sent this message out a few days ago and didn't get any takers on a
response....  Thought I would try again.  Can you please see below to help
me with this situation?  I've used Manila for about a year now and never had
this happen -

Hi Everyone -

I'm having a confusing situation with my site.  News items are turned off.
I have created a message and upgraded it to be the homepage.  However, it
doesn't show up on the homepage.  Another oddity:  When I turn on the "Edit
this Page" for the homepage, it shows the correct text in the editing box,
but without the rendered text on the page.  Anybody have any thoughts on
this?
