Plug Ins

Hi,
 
As I delve further into the land of Manila - I see some folks using
Plug-Ins - some of which i would like to add to my server (e.g.:
mySlideShow).  However, I am having a hard time actually finding any -
and the sites all seem to be old where work has taken place, with many
links outdated, etc.
 
Any ideas on how to steer me?
