To clarify my previous message, written under the effects of continual Frontier crashes...

I replaced the 9.1b4 app with Mac OS Frontier 9.5 in the manner Lawarence described. I had previously tried to run the Mac OS X Frontier 9.5 upgrader but it hung on an RCS-related stage very time.

After replacing the 9.1b4 app with 9.5 I updated all of the necessary roots.

Still no joy.
