a) I have set "Do you want a byline to appear on your home page?" to No on Appearance prefs. But I still see the Byline there.

Is there some other feature that overrides this?

b) I do not understand how I am supposed to delete Discuss text to remove the Discuss link on the homepage. There is no option to remove the link on the "edit homepage" page.
