Yes, I read that part of the documentation - it just didn't happen. I enabled Filer and kept "Disable gems while Filter is active" set to "yes." It didn't convert the gems, and there are no asynchronous tasks pending according to the Filer Control Panel page.

I understand that it should; I'm just saying it didn't. Dunno if it has anything to do with this being a site not at the top-level of the domain (i.e., www.example.com/mysite).
