Hello,

I am seeking some advice on planned upgrades to my Frontier/Manila server.

I run one of the early X-Serves single processor 1.33 GHZ with 512MB of RAM with x-serve 10.2.8 with Frontier V9.5 being the only app running.

It has proved to be a VERY stable and effective unit. I get the odd crash about once a day, but I have come to accept that as a "foible".

I now want to plan a migration strategy that will allow me to upgrade the X-SERVE to a more current OS. .ie 10.4.x

Can I set up a little development server with a local/internal IP on a different computer and simply copy the Frontier folder to the DEV Server?

I would like to have the dev server running for a while on the OS and the BETA Frontier before I committed to do the upgrade on my live site?

Any advice or pointers from anyone that has done this?

Cheers

Bill
