New Message: Emailed blog comments missing CR/LFs

My blog is set to ask for my approval for all new comments.

New comments emailed to me are consistently stripped of their CR/LFs, so a neatly-formatted comment with multiple paragraphs arrives as a single collapsed paragraph.

Is this a bug or a configuration issue?
