Okay, then it appears that you don't have any callbacks installed.

I don't really undertand callbacks [other than the simple defs in the manuals.

 Do you have any custom tools/plugins installed on the server?

I have survey and referrerremover installed on the server and these are enabled on the sites that crash. They are NOT enabled on the little site I just made/posted to. It did not crash when I added a news item.

 2. As a test, can you create that new test Manila site and see if you can reproduce the crashing when posting the news item to the homepage.

I did this and could NOT reproduce the crash on this site. All my other sites stil crash however?

 Also, I would try opening the Frontier application window. Try posting a news item to the homepage (without having it in pending mode) and see if you observe anything in the application window before it crashes.

I did this and could not observe anything, there was activity but too quick to read.

I should point out that I have posted a test message to the home page of the site that ALWAYS crashes and this time it HAS NOT??

I used TIMBUKTU to get directly on to the server and posted a message from the machine. NOrmally I do it remotely, from my laptop using the normal editors interface. Should this have any effect?

I have no deleted that post and the server remained up.
