New Message: "Email This": Embedding Feedburner FeedFlares into News Item Templates?

I'd like to offer my readers the option of emailing my news items in the form of an "Email This" link in the footer. I can't find a Manila macro that does this yet.

Has anyone had any success embedding Feedburner FeedFlares into News Item Templates... or the Home Page Template?

I've attempted to insert the following into the templates:

<script src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/FeedName?flareitem={permalink}" type="text/javascript"></script>

but the curly brackets { } keep getting replaced with their HTML symbol codes (e.g. {).

Any suggestions?
