Eric,

Do you have access to manilaWebsites.root on the web server? If so, you can edit the password entry in /sitename/ManilaWebsite.#membershipGroup.users./user at example.com/.password. Change the kind to "String", type the desired password, change the kind to "binary", and save the database.
