New Message: Full RSS feeds are publishing instead of summaries

I have a blog on my server with a consistent RSS problem - it publishes the full text instead of summary information, even though the option for "Use Summary in RSS feeds?" is "yes." Each news item has a author-generated summary, and I've tried toggling the "Use Summary in RSS feeds?" from "yes" to "no," changing a news item to re-generate the RSS, then changing back to "yes." It continues to publish the full feed. I've also verified that "flSummariesInRss" is "true in the newsItems table.
