Could you post a link to your site. It's hard to tell what's happening without seeing the HTML and CSS that's generated.

I don't believe "mediumvioletred" is a color recognized by any of the major web browsers. From the HTML DTD, a color value should be:

<!ENTITY % Color "CDATA" -- a color using sRGB: #RRGGBB as Hex values -->

<!-- There are also 16 widely known color names with their sRGB values:

 Black = #000000 Green = #008000
