Clarification:

In the first example of text the macros actually took on the page, it's supposed to be:

&lt;!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
&lt;html
 &lt;head&lt;title[siteName] : [title]&lt;/title
 {meta} {cascadingStyleSheet} {javaScript} &lt;/head
 {body} {editorialMenu}

with curly brackets replacing the square ones.
