Sounds like one of your subscription tables is missing an author sub-element. Here's what to do:

1) Use the Jump command (Ctrl-J on Windows or Cmd-J on Mac), to jump to user.radio.outliner.subscriptions.

2) Double-click the wedges to the left of each sub-table's name to expand it, until you find a sub-table that doesn't have an author sub-element.

3) When you find the abberant sub-table, delete it.

4) Save Radio.root (Ctrl-S)

You should be able to open your Buddies window now.
