using frontier to send https requests

Hello,

Can a recent version of frontier be used
to send an http request to another server?

I looked through the TCP table of frontier 7
but did not see any particular routine that suggested
an https call. Can the lower level tcp commands (openstream, 
closestream, etc)
be used for encrypted connections?

If so, are there any examples of working code out there? If not, can 
anyone
suggest a good way to use frontier to retrieve a secure web page?
