Old-style Frontier usage in OS X world

A listing is below. It shows the user 'tq' (aka, me) has a directory
called 'Sites'. Inside that is a directory created for this
experiment by Frontier called 'tempDir'. You can see that tempDir has
severely restricted privileges.
There is one bit of confusion here. Frontier is not running on the
OSX box. It is running on my old OS9 machine, as it has been for
years. It uses Fetch to send files to the web servers for my
websites. That works fine except this new website which is running on
an OSX box. The new machine (an old iMac running Jaguar) works fine
except that its ftp function does this weird permissions by default.
I had trouble with the files it created, too. However, Fetch has a
function that sets the default permission for uploaded files. Not so
for created folders.
So, I think the solution is to change the OSX ftp function default
for folders it creates to something a little more webserver friendly.
Thanks for the help.
