This seems a minor feature, since all new sites default to news sites, and that's where all the action is these days. :-)

Any reason I can't bump a message (not a group) to the home page as a news item? Right now, I'd have to create a news item pointing to the DG message. It's the same with stories - if I have a news items site and add a new story, I also have to add a new news item to point to the story or it doesn't show up on the home page. They're all the same thing internally; I should be able to use any message in any capacity.
