A new tool to block spam is released from http://sw1.storms.org/gems/frontier%2Ftools%2Fblockspam.zip

Currently it blocks comment spam based on Jay Allen's black list (http://www.jayallen.org/comment_spam/)

Use for free and completely at your own risk. During a short period we invite suggestions for improvements and features.

To install run: blockSpamSuite.installTool.blockSpamGeneral ()

Further installations (callbacks) can be done from the admin site

commentSubmit callback

 action:

 * it blocks comments with one or more matches against the blacklist
 * it keeps a log of blocked comments

 server admin:

 * from the admin site you can see a list of blocked comments per site
 * you can send an email to the member who attempted to post the comment
 * you can jump to the message the comment is posted to
 * you can inspect the comment and mark it for admin-approved posting
 * you can block the member
 * you can include the member's client-ip in the blocker tool exclusion list
 * you can clear the log
