I don't think I understand the question, but in case I do: none of the sites listed in this example are subdomains of anything. They all have their own domain names, configured in config.mainresponder.domains.

My own blog is a subdomain (http://friends.macjournals.com/mattd/), but it is not the broken site and has not been any of the othersite feeds returned for brokensite. Or, at least, not yet.
