manually create passwords?

Hi Rick,

We're looking into supporting a server preference to restore this function
for all Manila sites on a server.

But as a workaround, you can enable this on a per-site basis.

Open the Frontier application window.

Choose Window->manilaWebsites.root

Find the site table where you want to enable the password field on the Add
member form.

Then expand the site table, then expand the #newssite table.

Choose Table->New Sub-table

Call it "accessControl"

Choose Table->New Scalar->Boolean

Call the value "flAddUserFormPassword"

Set it to True.

Open the Admin page and check that you have a password field. By default, it
will generate a random password that you can choose to use or just replace
it if you want to use an alternate password.

Subject: manually create passwords?

9.5 seems to have removed the capability of manually assigning passwords to
new editors via editors only menu/admin.

Is there a way to re=implement this or work around this. Working with
students who do not have own email accounts, this capability is essential.

Thanks,
