I signed up for the API key and used the sample script they gave me, and it worked just fine. I got rid of the HTML, head, and body tags that I didn't need, but I left the script tag (which is legal on my server). Also, even though Manila neuters the CDATA by turning it into "//<![CDATA[", you have to leave that in place or Google Maps won't display.

Other than that, the sample (at least) worked just fine.
