Sean,

I'm not sure about clustering (perhaps Lawrence can answer that), but there are a couple other things you can do to reduce the load on your Frontier server:

 * Don't run any other applications on the the same machine as Frontier
 * Use another server (e.g. apache) for images / static files / gems
 * If your sites do not change too frequently, you may want to add a "reverse proxy" in front of the machine that runs Frontier and have it cache pages.
