New Message: Changing 'relative path' for Story

I wish to change a relative path for a story, ie

www.sitename.com/oldpathname to www.sitename.com/newpathname

but when I type the new name into the Admin box and press Submit, it results in:

Sorry! There was an error: Can't get the "name" attribute because the table doesn't have a sub-table named /atts.
