Enabling the option for people to be a member to post a comment along with enabling the email confirmation option gets the following error in the comment dialogue box::

"Can't login "E-Mail address" because "E-Mail address" is not a member."

Also, all the spammers are joining up as members. How is this possible and how can I stop it? I'm being overwhelmed!
