We recommend everyone review the update for Resetting Editorial Modes for Manila sites [1].

If you run a Manila server, you should select the most appropriate setting and apply it to your sites. This will set a baseline editorial status for all sites that restrict spammers using membership to join a site and post spam.

We will be releasing additional updates to select an editorial mode when creating new sites along with new methods to approve new members joining a site.
