If you enable the Hosting feature for sharing the membership group with the hosting site, then new sites should automatically get setup.

The only consideration when changing to the shared membership group would be to move the membership table from the site table to the members.root file since it would prevent any issues if you disable/uninstall any sites in the future. Also, you would need to use the main Admin page for any member/user administration.

You can just change the membership group through the Manage Site page in the Admin site. Though the old script is available here:
