I'd like to be able to set up a new site, tweak the various templates and other Advanced items, modify the default intial pages/messages (possibly adding more), and then create clones. Themes won't do the trick, because I need to include things like plug-in settings and initial members. Nor will modifying manilaData.newSiteTemplate, since I won't want every site created from that point forward to be based on these particular modifications.
A specific example of what I want to be able to do is to create sites for classroom teachers. These sites would be standard in a given school, with building tech staff as managing editors, a consistent look (at least to begin with), initial navigation that would include links to other district sites, initial Shortcuts, etc. Each building would have its own starting template.
I did my own "site stamper" app that does this to some extent, but it relies on Userland code that I copied and modified, and I'm not confident that it would continue to work with recently-added Frontier/Manila updates.
This is a Manila site.. http://manila.userland.com/.
