question about This

If I use the keyword "this" in a script in #tools that is called as a macro
call, it works - "this" is the address of the script itself, as expected.

But only in a static site. That's what I don't understand.

If I do the same thing in a dynamic site (in other words, one that is
rendered and served by Frontier, live, through mainResponder), it doesn't
work; "this" is reported as undefined. Why is that? And when did this
happen? Is there some sort of subtle breakage here? Or was it always this
way and I just never noticed?
