Well, I better just jump in here.  The calendar is part of my plug in for
schools, and it is intended for the display of long term deadlines like test
or papers or other classroom events.  David's desired use (discussed
offline) is to use it for more general events.  This will evolve into a new
set of functionality for the plugin I think
