A new feature was added to the Manila 9.6 Beta today: Arbitrary Member Names [1].

This feature allows Manila server adminstrators to remove the requirement that members log in using their email address.

The feature is intended primarily for users in K-12 environments, who may not have, or may not be allowed to reveal their email addresses, due to policy or legal restrictions.

The Arbitrary Member Names feature is available now for anyone who has a current license to Manila, and wants to participate in the Manila 9.6 Beta [2].
